Steve and I took CH Caramac’s Norma Rae to the ASHAO show at the Ashland fairgrounds this past weekend. We won both our adult show pleasure classes! Here’s a picture of Emily Mielke helping Steve get her ready before the championship. The show had perfect weather and the numbers were up from last year. There were 5 in the 5 gaited stake, and a ring full of park horses as well. We had a pizza party Saturday night that was well attended also.

Good News, Sad News
May 2nd, 2012On Monday, April 23, Kalarama’s Beauty Girl had a filly! Hard to say what color she is…definately dark, probably bay.
On a sad note, we had to put our sweet, little Billy to sleep(our Corgi). He will always have a special place in our hearts, and we will never forget him.
New Horses!!!
April 18th, 2012We have some new horses for the 2012 season. Paddy Bates/Paddyngton Farm is the owner of Paddyngton’s Ultra Suede. He is an exciting 3 yearold buckskin stallion for the fine harness division. She also recently sent a 3 yearold bay pleasure mare to Steve.
The Wingfield family purchased Callaway’s Born A Winner for Allie to show in the junior exhibitor 5-gaited classes. Very cool!!
Mary Strang purchased Leatherwood’s Lipstick Jungle. She is an impressive 4 year old bay mare Steve will be debuting at River Ridge in the junior fine harness division.
Steve is preparing The Voodoo King for the 2 year old fine harness classes. Lookin good!
We are certainly excited about all of our new teams, as well as ALL of our horses for this year! HS She Be Bad, She’s Extra Charming, Such Spirit, Heir To The Moon, Virtual Caress, and maybe an older face too?!
Good luck at River Ridge-let the fun fun begin!
Tampa Show
March 12th, 2012What a great week! The weather was perfect, our horses were at their best, and lots of friends and good food. Lisa and Heir To the Moon were 2nd in the amateur 5-gaited and 3rd in championship. Jackie and HS She Be Bad were reserve both times in amateur fine harness. The quality of horses was up-there were world/national champions in several of the classes.
On Thursday, Helen and James Rosburg invited everyone to their farm in Oddessa. After a tour of the house, and a buffet lunch, we went on a hayride to see the property. It is a beautiful place with lots of different animals,(some rescued) not just horses. The most unique were the 2 wolves that have their own large enclosure, including a cave! There is also a newly finished Wrigley Museum on the propety. We got to see CH Tigerlee enjoying his retirement in his own paddock.
This years’ show was definately one of the most memorable for us!
Remastered
February 15th, 2012Here’s a short video of “Stevie” that Lisa May took from her ipad a couple of weeks ago. He reminds us of his mother, Norma!
Steve is counting down to the Tampa show-he goes in 2 weeks! Looking forward to the nice weather and seeing some of our good friends!
Happy New Year, etc!
January 9th, 2012This Saturday the ASHAO awards banquet will be held in Fairlawn at the Hilton. Steve will have to wear a tie again!
Oh, and did I mention that the lead singer and drummer from the rock group Hinder were staying at our hotel?!(1 of my favorite bands) Awesome!!
Training Has Started
November 9th, 2011Steve brought our 2 yearlings, Remastered and The Voodoo King(aka Stevie and Voodoo) in to begin their training. So far, so good. Voodoo acts like”been there, done that”. Stevie is definately his mother’s (Norma Rae) son! Anyone that has been around Norma knows what I mean! Both look promising, and we look forward to seeing their progress!
